At 27,000 stitches in the largest size, this one takes the machine a bit longer than your average text design, and thats because every letter gets its own satin fill colour with directional tatami runs going slightly different angles so they dont all blur into one block of noise. The word TEACHER sits big and chunky in rounded bubble lettering, each letter a different shade, going coral pink, teal, cream white, dusty pink, yellow-green, sky blue, then soft lavender from left to right. Above the letters, a little garden of florals, a yellow sunflower with a terracotta centre, a purple daisy, a pink daisy, pink berry stems and green leaf sprigs kinda just scattered along the top.

Ive sold alot of teacher gifts and this one a quilter in my shop last month ordered three of, one each for different staff gifts. At 5 inches wide this fits a canvas tote front panel without the design feeling cramped, and its wide shape means you want a good horizontal hoop setup. Stitch it on cotton twill and the colours really pop. On a denim jacket or fleece it works well too, the satin letters read clean against both. Needs a cutaway stabiliser on anything stretchy, the density here is 856 and the satin sections on those big letters will tunnel on jersey if you skip it.

Hoop your stabiliser and fabric square, centre the design, and use a topping on any fabric with visible texture like terry or waffle weave so the bobbin thread doesnt pull through the gaps between satin rows. Iron your item flat before hooping, not after. Skip the water-soluble topping on smooth cotton, you dont need it and it just adds a rinse step. The 3.5 inch is compact enough for a shirt pocket or an apron bib without the flowers getting too dense to stitch out cleanly.

Send me a note if you need a smaller version for caps.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Canvas tote bagThe front panel of a canvas tote fits the 5 inch wide letterform perfectly, no crowding at the edges.
  • Teacher appreciation apronNeeds a cutaway on fleece pouches but the satin holds up through washing really well.
  • Fleece zip pouchThe 3.5 inch drops onto an apron bib without the florals getting too tight to read.
  • Cotton twill toteCotton twill is my favourite base for this one, colours come out sharp and the satin has something solid to grip.
  • Back-to-school shirtAny school shirt works, just hoop on a cutaway if the fabric has any give at all.
  • Classroom supply bagSupply bags in canvas or denim are what a lot of classroom parents are stitching this onto right now.
  • Teacher lanyard badge holderZipper pouches in linen work great for these as end-of-year staff gifts, the colours really hold on woven fabric.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
