Butterflies and floral bloom together in one composition on white or cream fabric, tangerine wings sitting right on top of a full heavy gathering of dusty pink flowers with rounded petals, all layered on top of each other the way they look when a whole bunch of roses and ranunculus get squeezed together in a vase. Sage green stems and leaf pairs come out from the base. Two butterflies sit right in the middle of it, one with wings fully open, one slightly tilted mid-flight. The wings have fine vein detail running through each panel and the satin columns have a slight gap that gives them a realistic translucent quality.

8 colours in the sequence and my software digitised the file to minimise colour jumps where the wings overlap the flower heads. Tangerine fills the wings first, then 3 separate passes for the dusty pink layers going from back to front so petal depth builds up properly, then 2 sage green passes for leaves and stems, then vein detail last. Run the sequence at 400-450 stitches per minute through the dense petal section because rushing the fill passes on tight curves can cause tension issues.

Use a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser with this one, not tearaway. Theres significant pull force on the base fabric across 8 colour passes and tearaway wont hold registration between them. Hoop the white pique taut, add water-soluble topping over the surface texture so petal edges come out clean, and check bobbin tension before the tangerine pass since wide satin columns catch any inconsistency right away. Avoid loose-weave fabrics, the sage stem detail uses fine directional fill that needs a smooth base.

9 sizes from 3.18 x 3.50 inches to 6.81 x 7.50 inches, stitch counts between 16,034 and 39,360. Last spring a customer used the 6-inch on a white pique pillow for a conservatorie seating area and told me her daughter kept tryng to swat the butterflies off it, which is honestly a great sign. Reach out if anything looks wrong and Ill make it right.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
