A woman in a dress that looks like butterfly wings, or at least thats the idea here. The skirt flares out into two sweeping wing shapes on either side, and the silhouette turns mid-step with the fabric caught in motion. Five colours: deep teal as the base of the dress, cobalt blue through the mid sections, sky blue on the upper wing tips, soft lavender at the hem edge, and black for the figure outline. Density sits at 691, moderate, and the finished piece has a clean editorial illustration quality to it.

Stitch range is 8,164 at a chest 3.5 in wide version to 19,585 on the biggest 7.5-inch design. The figure is wide but short, ranging from just 1.76 inches tall at the small end to 3.78 inches tall at the largest, so this one is suited to horizontal placement across pockets or bag panels rather than tall vertical spaces. my main software built the underlay with directional passes that follow the wing curves, which keeps the satin stitching smooth even around the flared hem. One customer who ordered it this spring ran the 6-inch onto a clutch bag in cream leather and said the teal looked almost printed-on it was so clean.

Best on light or white fabric where the teal and cobalt have room to show up clearly. Press a medium weight cutaway or polymesh backer before hooping any stretch fabric. Avoid hooping anything too lightweight on the larger sizes because the dense satin sections at the wing edges can pull. Stitch it vertically centred on a pouch or horizontally across a bag panel.

Use a tearaway on non-stretch woven fabric and you're done in under twenty minutes on the mid sizes. the small 3-in runs in under 10 minutes. Text the shop contact if the stitch-out doesnt look right and Ill check the file for you right away.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Clutch bags and evening pouchesThe wide silhouette on a clutch bag in a solid colour fabric looks like a high-end printed fashion accessory.
  • Fashion tote bag front panelTote bag front placement with the 7.5 face makes a bold fashion statement without looking busy.
  • Denim shorts back pocket detailThe 3.5 baseline fits a back pocket denim detail and the teal against indigo denim is a nice combo.
  • Silk scarf or fabric print alternativeUsed on a plain silk-feel fabric panel it works as an embroidered alternative to a printed fashion graphic.
  • Shirt breast pocket accentThe small 3-in on a shirt breast pocket is subtle enough for daily wear but interesting up close.
  • Cushion cover in a fashion-themed bedroomA full-size 7.5-inch size featured on a cushion cover suits a fashion-styled bedroom or studio space.
  • Framed fashion illustration wall artMounted in a hoop on cream cotton it reads as a clean minimalist fashion illustration for wall display.
  • Custom baseball cap front panelThe wide horizontal shape fills a baseball cap front panel perfectly at the medium sizes.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
