Butterfly perched above a small tied floral bouquet, wings open and facing forward. The wings have fine veining detail stitched in charcoal so they look like actual butterfly wings rather than simple shapes. Below, the flowers are gathered loosely in a small bunch with sage green leaf work and tied stems. Together the butterfly and bouquet balance nicely in a vertical composition that isnt too wide or too tall.

7 colours: lavender and soft periwinkle on the wings, cream-white highlights along the upper wing edges, dusty coral-pink on the bigger flowers, pale yellow on the smaller blooms, sage green for leaves and stems, and light charcoal for the outlines and wing veining. The digitising did really nice directional stitching on the wing sections, the lines radiate from the body outward following the wing shape. Density at 700 gives the piece good texture and its not too heavy for lighter fabrics.

5 sizes from 3.5 to a 7-in max. Heights go from 2.45 to 5.25 inches so its wider than tall, which works great centred on fabric. Stitch counts from about 11,800 to 27,500. Kinda in the medium-complex range. Use cutaway for knits and stretch. Tearaway works for the 2 smaller sizes on woven cotton or linen.

My mum actually asked me to put this one on a set of cotton napkins last spring for her garden party and they got a bunch of compliments. Ive also had quite a few orders from people doing handmade gifts for mothers day. Works on white, cream, pale grey and sage green backgrounds where the lavender and coral both pop without clashing. Dont use busy patterned fabric since the fine wing veining wont read properly.

Stitch on plain woven cotton or linen for the sharpest results. Skip stretchy jersey for the smaller sizes where the wing vein lines are at their finest and wont survive any fabric pull.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
