Sketched this one out as a split-composition heart and Im still happy with how it turned out. The left half carries a lil bunch of black satin butterflies in different sizes, linked by fine stem lines, with small hearts and four-pointed stars dotted in between. Its openwork and airy, the kind of thing that looks good on lighter fabrics where the background peeks through the gaps. Cross the centre line and the whole mood switches. The right half runs bold red satin scrollwork, thick spiral curls and branching leafy vines, the kind of baroque flourish you see on old botanical prints. Dark and graphic on one side, warm and filled on the other.

2 colours and 4 sizes, from 3.5 inches up to 5.82 inches wide. The stitch count runs 14,749 to 23,255 stitches so youre looking at a dense fill especially in that red satin section, density sits at 533. Use a cutaway stabiliser, dont try tearaway on this one, the directional satin pulls too much. One colour change, just Black then Red, its a quick bobbin swap mid-run. Digitised in the software I use.

One customer ordered the largest 5.82-inch size for a linen tote last autumn and said the contrast read really clearly even from across the room, she was suprised how sharp the butterfly outlines stayed at that size. Drop a note if anything with the file needs fixing and Ill get it sorted fast.

Pair with a plain script monogram for a personalised gift item. Stitch on the the back of a denim coat, a cushion cover centre, a canvas tote, a linen apron, or frame it as hoop wall art. Best on medium-weight wovens with a topping layer over terry or textured fabrics.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
