Made this one last spring after a bunch of requests for something with a fashion-forward feel that wasnt too busy. Its a side-profile silhouette of a woman, hair swept up, and theres a big butterfly sitting right at the top of her head like its part of the updo. And honestly it just works. The wings spread outward and balance the whole shape so it doesnt look lopsided or awkward on the fabric.
Two colours total. Solid black for the body and hair, a lighter tone for the butterfly wings. Simple satin fills in the hair area, directional stitching on the butterfly to give the wings a bit of texture and lift. Runs from 8,908 stitches at 2.33 inches wide all the way up to 16,535 stitches at 4.99 inches wide, 5 sizes in between. Density sits at 68, so its not too heavy for lighter fabrics aswell. I hooped a cotton canvas tote last january with the 4.99 inch version and it came out really clean with a standard tearaway underneath.
But you dont need a tote for this. Pop it on a cap front panel, a denim jacket pocket, a canvas pouch. One customer ordered the smallest size for a set of personalised hair accessories pouches she was making for bridesmaids and she said it stitched perfectly on the lil fabric-covered boxes she was using. So it scales down well too. Use a medium-weight stabiliser for stretchy fabrics and youre sorted. Skip topping film on smooth cotton, it isnt needed at density 68 and just adds a removal step.
Holler if you need a different size range and I can look into what I have on file for you.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Tote bags and canvas shoppersLooks sharp on natural canvas with the 4.99 inch version centred front; tearaway stabiliser works well.
- Denim jacket back or pocket panelThe 3-4 inch range fits a jacket chest pocket without crowding; use a cutaway on stretch denim.
- Cap front panels and visorsSmaller 2.33 inch size is right for a structured cap front on medium-weight fabric.
- Personalised gift pouches for bridesmaidsTiny 2.33 inch version stitches cleanly on small fabric pouches; light tearaway underneath.
- Linen throw pillow coversMiddle 3.5 inch placement on a linen cover gives a clean graphic look.
- Fashion tees for women and teensCentre chest placement at around 3 inches wide reads well on a fitted tee.
- Wall art hoop framingMount the largest hoop version on a 5 inch wooden ring for a clean wall piece.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
