Its basically a heart made of butterflies. Not a heart with butterflies on it, the butterflies ARE the heart. About 14 or so of em arranged in a wreath circle that forms the heart outline, each one stitched with proper wing detail so they dont just look like flat shapes.

Single black thread, no colour changes at all, which keeps the stitch time way down and the whole thing looking clean. The wings are done with directional stitching so you get that layered wing texture on every butterfly. Smallest size comes in at 2.72 inches wide, the largest is 5.82 inches, so theres alot of range here for different hooping sizes.

I made this one after a customer asked me for something that felt nature-themed but still romantic without being too much. The butterfly wreath heart ended up being exactly that. Its had alot of use on tote bags and spring shirts since then.

Stitch it on white cotton, cream canvas or a light grey jersey and the black thread really pops. Skip busy patterned fabric here, the design needs a clean background to read properly. Stick to cutaway on stretchy knits, tearaway is plenty for woven cotton or linen. The density is 372 stitches per square inch so nothing too intense for most machines.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Spring tote bags and canvas shoppersThe 4.5 inch detail centred on a book club tote makes a clean spring carry bag without any extra decoration needed.
  • Valentine gift pouches on cotton muslinA small size stitched on a muslin drawstring pouch becomes a sweet gift bag for a valentines day treat.
  • Wedding favour bags with ribbonTwo of the smaller sizes on opposite corners of a cotton favour bag ties together a nature-themed wedding table.
  • Baby shower gifts on white onesiesThe 2.72 inch size on a white onesie collar area is subtle enough for everyday baby wear and still looks intentional.
  • Romantic anniversary pillow casesCentred on a plain pillow case with a name or date underneath it works as a romantic bedroom accent piece.
  • Lightweight denim shirt left chestThe 3.5-in baseline on the upper left chest of a denim shirt reads as a quiet nature statement without trying too hard.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
