Half wreath split right down the middle. Right side has tall pointed sunflower leaf petals fanning outward in a quarter ring, the petals taper from a fat base to a sharp tip and curve in toward the centre. Left side is a flock of small butterflies, maybe a dozen plus a few extras of em, arranged in a quarter arc that mirrors the petal side so it reads as one circular wreath frame truly cleanly. Butterflies vary in size, biggest cluster near the centre, scaling smaller as they drift outward. Empty middle, no fill inside the ring, its a kinda just clean frame.

Single colour orange thread for the whole piece, which is unusual for a botanical floral design but the silhouette style sells it. Density runs 409 in my usual software so the petal fills stay flat and even, no puckering on lighter cotton tees. Stitch direction follows the petal length on the right edge so light catches the satin like real flower leaves, and the butterflies fill solid. Pre-trim the jumps between the small butterflies because theres 28 trims on the small run and they pile up fast.

Five sizes total. Starts at 3.5 inch (8,359 stitches), then 4.5 inch (12,000ish stitches), 5.5 inch (16,500ish stitches), 6.5 inch (around 19,000 stitches), then 7.5 inch run topping out at 22,013 stitches. Hoop with a tearaway for smaller sizes, swap to a light cutaway above 5.5 inch on stretch fabrics. Try a coral or peach thread sub if you wanna soften the look, deep teal also works well on cream linens. Dont skip a topper on terrycloth.

I made the original version a couple summers ago for my niece who wanted a single-thread design for her embroidery machines first solo run. Honestly its been my second-best monthly seller through last spring. Run the 5.5 size on a cotton tote front with a small monogram below the wreath, the empty centre frames a name perfect. Stitch on a fresh cream canvas or sage linen for the strongest contrast against the orange.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Linen napkin centre design for weddings or table gifts45cm square linen-cotton napkins at the 4-inch, centred with a slight offset toward the fold corner for gift presentation; tearaway presses flat well.
  • Tea towel or kitchen cloth accent embroideryCotton or linen tea towel centred horizontally; the 5-inch works well with the wreath sitting just below the hem edge for a framed feel.
  • Tote bag or canvas shopper front panelNatural canvas tote at the 7-inch centred on the front in black thread on a cream bag; reads well in natural light at market.
  • Framed hoop wall art for a botanical themed roomStretched on a 9-inch hoop in a 7-inch version on cream linen as botanical wall art for a kitchen or hallway; no frame needed, just the hoop.
  • Linen cushion cover centred designHeavyweight linen cushion cover front panel at the 6-inch pairs with plain cushion backs in dark olive or charcoal for a proper studio-style look.
  • Baby blanket or swaddle muslin decorative cornerCorner of a large cotton swaddle or muslin blanket at the chest 3.5 as a decorative repeated motif along two edges; light tearaway works on muslin.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
