The butterfly sits dead centre, wings spread wide, and a rose branch runs underneath it from left to right carrying 2 open blooms and a lil bud tucked in on each side. The butterfly wings are the real detail here, done in 3 or 4 shades of pink running from a deep rose at the outer edges through to a soft blush near the body, with tiny white dots scattered across the upper wing panels. The body is a warm sand and brown, done in fine satin stitching so it looks almost like a real specimen pin.

Eight colours total, 12 colour changes across the file. Nine sizes and this one is narrow and tall, not square. Width goes from 1.34 inches to 2.88 inches, height from 3.5 to 7 in piece. Thats a border-style design, not a square patch, so it fits differently than most. Youre gonna want to think about placement before hooping, a 7.5-inch tall piece on a shirt pocket needs centering very carefully. On the right product though, the tall format is the whole point.

A customer sent me message last valentines day saying shed stitched the 5-inch on a cream linen napkin set and they looked like something from a fancy restaurant. That was the first time I realised this design has a real gift market, not just apparel. Since then it gets ordered for napkin sets, cushion panels, jewellery pouches, all sorts.

Stitch on white, cream, or pale blush cotton or linen for best colour. Skip dark fabrics here, the blush pinks get lost against navy or black. Use cutaway stabiliser because of the colour change count, the 12 thread swaps build up tension on the fabric. Pair with a quality 40wt polyester thread for the wings to get clean crisp satin on those tiny highlight dots.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
