Two butterfly wings spread wide, one on each side. Inside each lower wing panel, where youd normally see the patterned spots, theres a fully drawn human eye complete with iris, pupil and long lashes. The wing vein lines and edge scalloping are all there in fine detail. All single black thread, no fill, pure line-art with a surreal edge to it. Weird-beautiful is the right call for this one.

7,938 stitches on the small 1.44-inch tall version, 15,872 stitches on the 3-inch version. Single color, single stop, 28 trims. Hoop a firm cutaway stabiliser, the line density around the eye detail areas is 686 stitches per square inch on average and the lash sections need to be flat and anchored. Dont rush those sections. Pop a piece of tissue paper or topping on top if youre stitching on terry or any pile fabric.

I get messages from alternative fashion people about this one regularly. Stitch it along a jacket sleeve for an edgy accent, pop it on a dark tshirt chest, use it centered on a canvas tote for someone who likes the mystical-eye thing. A customer last year used the small size on a series of iron-on patches for a festival stall. Put it on a waist bag, stitch it on a clutch, use it for tarot or witch-themed project decor. The surreal eye-in-wing combination has its own audience and that audience is very loyal.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
