A sleek cat sits upright on a stack of four books. The cat body is a solid dense fill, totally black, and around it youve got botanical leaf sprigs and little berry clusters in fine outline stitching. Its all single colour, so theres no thread swapping at all. The 5 inch totals about 19,000 stitches. Big design but clean stitch-out because everything is done in black against white so the contrast is automatic.
Ive digitised the cat fill with directional stitching that follows the body curves, so you actually see a sense of fur and shape rather than a flat black blob. The book spines have their own satin column lines giving them a stacked layered look. Back this with a cutaway stabiliser on this one, the stitch density is 689 and that will pull on any fabric without a solid backing. A mesh wash stabiliser works well on lighter cotton tees where you dont want the cutaway visible from the back. Hoop straight and centre it before you run, the whole design is pretty wide at 7.5 inches on the large size.
This is one of those designs I get consistent orders on all year. One customer emailed last week asking if the 7 inch version would fit a standard 7x12 hoop, and yes it does with a little room on the sides. Pair this on cream, white, oatmeal or light grey cotton for the cleanest result. Skip dark fabric unless you want to use a contrasting coloured thread instead of black. Hoop it tight, it repays clean hooping with a really sharp finish. Email me if you hit any snag with the file.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
