Started this one last january after a customer kept asking for a cat design that wasnt the whole face, just the eyes. Its become one of those designs I sell steadily without alot of fuss. Ten colours total, mostly greens in the iris layering, which is the tricky bit, each layer uses a directional fill that shifts angle slightly to mimic how a real iris catches light. Density is 135, which means the iris satin sits solid without going boardy on medium-weight fabrics.
Eight sizes, 3.5 7.5 max range wide, but the height only runs 2.59 to 5.55 inches, so its a wide flat design. Thats actually useful, it fits on hat panels, sleeve hems, trouser leg cuffs, tote bag handles, places where a taller design would get awkward. Add a topping on knit fabrics or the fine iris detail can disappear into the surface. Use a cutaway stabiliser whenever stitching on stretchy material, the underlay needs something firm to register the thin eyelash satin columns cleanly.
Stitch counts run from 16,291 at the smallest to 36,299 at the largest, so runtimes are reasonable even for a 10-colour job. Pick a tearaway on stable woven denim or canvas, it presses off cleanly once the hoop is released. Dont rush the iris section if your machine slows on dense layers, let it run at its own pace. Email me if a size runs out of registration and I can advise on re-hooping technique for your specific machine.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Cat-themed cap panel designThe 4-inch version fits a standard structured cap panel perfectly, use cap hoop and firm stabiliser.
- Denim jacket sleeve accentRun the 5-inch on the upper sleeve of a denim jacket, tearaway peels cleanly off woven denim.
- Tote bag handle stripStitch the 3.5-inch along the side of a canvas tote handle strip for a subtle feline detail.
- Trouser leg cuff embroideryThe narrow profile fits a trouser leg cuff at 3.5 inches, one hoop job on most 4x4 frames.
- Cat lover gift bagEmbroider a small cotton gift bag with the 4-inch version for any cat-obsessed friend.
- Pillowcase corner pairPut a pair of 3.5-inch eyes in opposite corners of a white pillowcase for a playful bedroom look.
- Kids sweatshirt frontThe 5-inch centred on a kids sweatshirt chest reads cute without being overwhelming.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
