Block CAT type paired with cursive Mom and a tiny set of ears makes this one small but loud. The word CAT sits at the top in fat block letters in dark green thread, and right above the letters two pointed cat ears poke out like the word itself is a kitty face. Three little whisker lines run out either side of the C and the T which gives it a real face vibe, theyre what sells the joke.
Underneath, the word Mom flows out in a curly black cursive script, the M and the m loop wide and the o sits centred with a slight tail. Two colours total, dark green for the cat block and black for the script, the file maxes out at 9k stitches so this runs fast on the home machine, you wont be waiting around. Roughed this design out last april for a customer who wanted something simple to put on a bunch of mothers day gift bags for her cat-rescue volunteer group, theyve since reordered twice.
Stitch this on a cream tote, sage cotton tee or a kitchen tea towel for cat people, theyll all read crisp. Pop the small 1.5-in centred on coffee mug-cover, a pet-bandanna corner or a name patch on a cat carrier. Steer clear of charcoal or deep indigo aswell, the green letters lose their punch and the script disappears, ya very need light fabric here for the contrast to read. The smallest size kinda just begs for a tiny accent placement.
Density is super light at 339 stitches per inch and the satin column on the script is the only spot you need to watch, otherwise youre fine to fly through it. Use a thin cutaway stabiliser, hoop snug and slow the rpm for those ear-tip satins so they dont buckle. Best on woven cotton or canvas. Avoid customising thread colours away from the green and black combo because the contrast is whats making the joke land.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
