The sunflower fills the upper portion of the design with proper weight and colour. Bright yellow petals fanned out in all directions, each stitched with directional fill that gives them dimension. The base of each petal shades into orange where it meets the dark center disk, a solid black oval with small white dots scattered across it. The dark green stem curves from the flower head all the way down through the composition.
The cat sits beside and below the sunflower, done in a completely different style. Its an outline drawing, the whole cat traced in yellow thread with almost no fill inside. Ears, back, haunches, a long curling tail. You can see through the cat, basicaly. The contrast with the solid sunflower above is the whole point, one element is heavy and filled, the other is light and sketchy.
Five colours, five sizes from 3.5 x 2.55 inches up to 7.5 x 5.48 inches. The low-density cat portion wont distort lighter weaves, so its a good candidate for tea towels, muslin, and light linen. Run tearaway beneath woven cotton and youre sorted. Stitch the 5.5 or 6.5 inch sizes if you want both the cat and flower to read clearly at a glance. Dont go below 3.5 inches if you want the cat features to show. Pop it on a white linen tea towel and see how it lands. Last month a customer sent me a photo of the design on a white linen set, the recipient thought it was hand-embroidered, which is kind of the goal with this one.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Tea towels and kitchen linens for a garden-themed kitchenThe yellow and green palette is natural on white or cream linen tea towels, fits a garden kitchen perfectly.
- Tote bags and farmers market bags for cat ownersCat owners who garden basically have a favourite tote waiting to happen with this one.
- Baby room decor and nursery hoopsThe design is gentle and non-scary enough for a nursery wall hoop or baby gift.
- Pet-themed gift items, pouches, cards, or small framesAt the small size it fits nicely on a pouch flap or card-sized piece for a handmade gift.
- Spring and garden themed t-shirts or sweatshirtsStitch it on a pale yellow or cream sweatshirt and the design blends into the fabric in the nicest way.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
