And its four of them crammed into one design, which is already different from every single-cat thing ive seen. Two kittens sit up at the back, one ginger-patched and one mostly white, both looking forward with that slightly smug confidence cats do so well. In front, two more are flopped down, paws out, chins pushed forward, eyes wide. All four share the same teal and green irises that pop against the warm cream ground. Thats eight eye circles to stitch and they all read correctly, which honestly isnt easy at small scale.

Style is sketch-cartoon, the sort where the outlines are bold black and the fur detail is tight crosshatch rather than a flat fill. Ginger saddle patches sit on cream white coats, each one built from short directional satin runs following the natural curve of fur. Pink noses are a 3 to 4 stitch cluster each. Whiskers are single-run outlines radiating past the muzzle. Tricky to get clean but the my main digitising tool digitising held them in place, theyre not bunching or pulling on the test stitchouts ive seen.

Nine sizes from 1.66 by 3.5 inches up to 3.55 by 7.5, so youre choosing between a patch, a hand towel panel or a full cushion front. Id put the 3.55 wide on a cushion, its the right scale. Stitch count tops around 20k at the biggest, density 758, doesnt stiffen up lighter fabric. One customer who does adoption events for rescue cats used the medium size on tote bags last spring and said people kept stopping to ask about them. Proper result.

Light cotton, canvas or linen blend are the sweet spots. White, cream, pale blue or soft grey backgrounds let the ginger and teal read clearly. Dont use dark fabric, the teal eyes disappear into navy. Skip fleece or towelling where the fine whisker runs wont hold through the pile. Use water-soluble topping on anything textured so the eye circles and whisker ends land clean.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Cat lover tote bag for daily errandsStitch the 3-in across a plain canvas tote and give it to the person in your life who talks about their cats more than anything else
  • Cushion cover for a pet-friendly living roomCentre the smallest 3.5 on a almond linen cushion cover and toss it on the sofa, it reads as decor not novelty
  • Kids bedroom pillow with a multi-cat designUse the smaller size on a child's bedroom pillow, the four kittens grouped together make it feel friendly rather than babyish
  • Zipper pouch gift for a cat owner friendEmbroider the 2-inch version on a white zipper pouch and drop in a gift card, its a complete little gift on its own
  • Personalised pet blanket border panelRepeat the design along the border edge of a fleece blanket using a lighter tearaway backing for each hoop
  • Hand towel accent for a cat-themed bathroomAdd the medium size to a white hand towel folded edge for a cat-themed bathroom that doesnt look tacky
  • Canvas shopping bag for a cat cafe or pet shopStitch the full 7.5-inch tall version on a canvas tote for a cat cafe, or use it as a display piece in a pet shop window
  • Patch sewn onto a denim jacket back panelIron-on backing the design, cut out around the outline and sew it onto the back yoke of a denim jacket as a statement patch

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
