Night markets are when this one really gets noticed. Its an alpaca face looking straight at you, fluffy mane stitched in dense white satin rows, with crescent moons and those little four-pointed star bursts scattered all around it on a black background. The fleece texture on the lower body is done in directional tatami fill stitching that gives it that shaggy, woolly look without it going stiff or puckered. Alot of detail packed into what feels like a clean, minimal design.

This is a light-on-dark design so keep it on dark fabrics where it belongs. Black canvas totes, navy denim jackets, charcoal fleece hoodies, black twill aprons. Thats where the white satin really pops and the whole celestial mood lands properly. Skip light or pastel fabrics entirely, the design relies on that dark ground to do its thing. For thread ill stick with a bright white polyester on the main fills and if you want to push the atmosphere a little, swap the star dots over to a metallic silver 40wt, it catches the light and makes the scatter look almost alive on the finished piece.

Hoop a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser on any jersey or knit base because the dense satin underlay on the face pulls fabric around if you let it, so dont skip that step on knits. On flat woven stuff like canvas or denim a single layer of tearaway does the job fine. If you're stitching onto fleece or anything with a pile, lay a piece of water-soluble topping over the surface before you hoop it, otherwise those satin columns sink into the fibres and you lose the crispness in the face. Pop a bit of extra bobbin tension on the small dot clusters so they round out proper instead of going oval.

A buyer put this on her market apron last spring, black canvas, and it stitched out in about 40 minutes with no topping needed on the flat areas. The 3.05 inch version sits neat on a collar or a small patch, while the 6.55 inch fills a full tote front nicely. Give me a heads up if the download gives you grief.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
