The hat is the whole personality here. It takes up nearly half the height of the design, this drooping floppy red hat with a white pompom at the tip. Below it theres just a big fluffy white beard with a tiny blush pink nose poking out. The gnome holds a vintage oil lantern in one hand, all done in tan-gold thread, and at his feet theres a wrapped present in green with red striped ribbon and a bow. Seven colors, 6 color changes, sizes from 3.5 scaling up to 7.5.

Stitch count goes from the keychain run scaling up to 53,053 at the largest. The red hat fill is the densest element. Back with light cutaway on knit and stretchy fabric to stop the hat crown pulling at the sides. On stiff woven cotton or linen, tearaway is fine and the hat sits perfectly flat. Hoop the fabric taut and dont skip the stabiliser even on heavier wovens, the large red fill area is where you'll notice any looseness.

Gnome designs have been popular for years honestly but this one has a warmth thats hard to find in a lot of the mass-produced ones. The lantern is the bit that does it, it gives the gnome a purpose like hes actually going somewhere. I had a customer last december use this for a whole range of linen pillow covers she sold at a winter market and she said it was the one people kept coming back to pick up and look at. Works beautifully on natural and oatmeal fabric, pop it centred and let the warm palette do its thing.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
