A mermaid with long flowing hair cascading down past her shoulders and a proper scaled tail that takes up the bottom half of the composition. The scales on the tail are done individually in layered satin sections so each one catches light differently from the next. Its not a flat colour block, its got real dimensional texture when you look at the finished piece up close. Twelve colours to pull this off and honestly they're worth every thread swap.
Only 3 sizes available here, which run from 5.51 inches wide at the small scale, reaching 7.51 inches at the biggest size. Counts are 24,314 to 36,470. Density sits at 848 so this is a substantial run, plan for about 30 to 45 minutes depending on your machine speed. Built in my main digitising tool and the scale sections use a specific layered underlay approach so the satin fill doesnt sink into fabric pile and lose definition. The hair sections use directional stitching so they flow in the same direction as the design reads.
Press a thick backer, full stop. Dont even try a tearaway on this build because the density and the interlocking satin sections need permanent support underneath. Lay a water-soluble film topping on any fabric with any texture to protect those detailed sections. My niece had this stitched on a cream cotton sweatshirt for her birthday last December and she wore it basically every week after that, which is the kind of result Im going for. Customers use this for girls room decor, mermaid party supplies, and kids clothing quite a bit.
Best results on white, cream, or pale aqua fabric. The 12 thread colours include teal, coral, and lavender which all read their best against light backgrounds. Keep your machine clean between colour changes on the tail area and youll get a result thats genuinely impressive.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
