1 colour, 1 thread, and the heart shape here isnt drawn as a heart. Its built entirely from shamrock leaves packed together so tightly that the three-lobed shape of each leaf disappears into the overall heart silhouette. You only see the heart when you step back. Up close youre looking at each three-lobed clover shape sitting side by side. Its clever and its the kind of thing that makes people look twice when you stitch it out on a finished piece.

Single colour, which means the whole job is in the fill. No outline thread, no second colour breaking it up. The leaf-lobe texture across the heart face comes purely from the tatami fill direction changing across each leaf section. Stitch count goes from about 12,900 on the 3.5-in size for up to 37,000 on the 7.5-inch, which is a fair amount for a single-colour piece. Thats because filling that dense heart with individual shamrock lobes takes real stitching real. The underlay on every individual lobe does alot of work to keep everything flat before the top stitching goes on.

I get messages all the time from people doing valentines and st paddys crossover gifts with this one, which makes sense because the heart works for both occasions. One customer this past march was making matching aprons for her mum and her daughter and embroidered the 5-inch detail on white linen in a sage green thread. The sage colour gave it that sort of vintage Irish look and she said her mum cried a bit, which I think is the best review Ive ever gotten indirectly.

Pale or white fabric works best here because the single green needs a clean background to show all that clover detail. Cream linen, white cotton and pale natural canvas are the sweet spots. Avoid dark fabric on this one because the fine lobed texture inside the silhouette gets lost and you just end up with a flat green blob. The interior texture is the whole point of this design.

Add mid-weight cutaway on woven cotton and linen. Hoop the fabric snug because a 37k single-colour fill on the big size will pull if the stabiliser isnt properly secured. Iron a light press cloth over it after stitching to set the fill flat. Anything weird with the download just message me and Ill sort it quick.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
