Heres a snowman face that looks like it walked straight off a vintage christmas card. Big round powder-blue face with a tall black top hat tilted on top, brown leather hat band running across the front, a red poinsettia with green leaves tucked in beside the band. Cartoon eyes with hand-drawn lashes, two peach cheek blush spots, a curling red carrot nose pointing left, and a long brown smoker pipe curving down from his wide grinning mouth. Felt like a proper old-school Frosty when I was digitising it.

Twelve colours total at a density of 1122 stitches per square inch, on the heavier end cos the round face needs full satin coverage so the powder blue reads as one solid sphere. Smallest 3.51-inch version runs 17,971 stitches, largest 7.51-inch hits 48,266. Ive digitised it in my digitising suite with cross-hatch shading on the top hat that mimics felt texture, and the poinsettia petals are stacked on a triple-pass underlay so the red sits proud above the black hat without bleeding into it.

One customer told me she stitched the 4.51-inch size on the front pocket of a navy cotton stocking with topping over the cotton, and her dad cried when he opened it cos it looked exactly like the snowman on the christmas cookie tin from his childhood. Twelve thread changes so plan for the swaps, but the colour-stop order has been kept logical, neutrals first, then warm tones, then black outline last. Run the black outline carefully, that final colour stop is what gives the whole design its vintage card-print feel.

Best on cream linen, oatmeal canvas, dusty pink fleece, sage cotton or any soft neutral that lets the poinsettia red pop. Hoop with medium cutaway under any knit, light tearaway under stable wovens. Skip black or charcoal fabrics, the hat will disappear and the soft blue head wont have enough contrast against dark grounds. Pop a layer of water-soluble topping over textured weaves so the carrot nose tip stays crisp. Real charmer, this one.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
