Black cat, Santa hat, and that look. You know the one. The cat peers up over a solid horizontal bar, front paws hooked over the top edge, head tilted just enough to look like hes been caught mid-snoop. Big green eyes stare straight at you. The ears carry golden-tan satin fills at the inner tip. A fat red Santa hat sits sideways on the head with a fluffy white pompom on the end. Around the composition there are 2 teal snowflakes, a red-and-white candy cane leaning in on the left, and a sprig of green holly with three red berries along the bottom bar. Mischief with a bow on it, basically.

The cat body runs in dense black satin sections, laid in directional fills to give the coat that slight sheen a real feline coat has. The inner ear detail uses a warm golden tan to separate it from the black fur. The Santa hat brim is a white tatami band and the hat body is solid red satin. Eye highlights are tiny white satin dots on top of the green iris fills. Eight colours total, 40k stitches at the largest, properly layered so the fills dont bleed into each other. No kitten-soft detail here, this is a proper pet portrait with dense fill and visible fur direction.

Sizes run from 2.79 by 3.51 inches up to 5.97 by 7.51. A customer with 3 cats had this done on a set of pillow slips one November, one for each cat apparently, and said her guests thought they were prints until they got close enough to feel the texture.

Use a firm medium cutaway stabiliser under any woven or cotton base. Float a layer of water-soluble topping on velvet, fleece or plush, the dense black fill buries itself into pile fabric without it. Keep thread tension consistent across the black sections or pull gaps will show along the outline edges. Hoop tight, the wide paw spread on the bar needs the fabric flat from start to finish, and if youre on fleece dont skimp on the float layer. Ping me with the fabric details and Ill suggest tension settings if youre working on a short pile or stretchy base.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
