The branch cuts across from one side in a gentle diagonal, thick at the base and thinning out toward the tip, with dense needle clusters filling it out. Hanging off those clusters are ornament balls in red, gold, teal and silver, each one on a tiny looped thread. Theres a bell or two in there aswell. truly classic holiday image, the kind you see on old christmas cards, but the embroidery version has alot more texture going on in the needle detail.

Fourteen colours across the whole piece. professional digitising software digitised those needle clusters in directional satin stitch so each one looks like its pointing the right way, not just a flat green blob. Ornament spheres carry a highlight stitch in the upper corner to give that glossy bauble look. Stitch density runs moderate at 554 per square inch, so the design breathes well on lighter fabrics like linen or cotton twill.

Five sizes from about 3.2 inches up to 6.8 inches wide, stitches going from 12k at the small end to 28k on the biggest. The landscape proportions work well for pockets, bag fronts, cushion panels and tea towels. Colour changes stay minimal and the border between the green needles and the gold ornament caps comes out clean without a visible jump.

Hoop on a firm tearaway for linen or cotton. Try a medium cutaway on fleece or velvet if youre doing a pillow cover. Skip very dark green fabric because the needle stitching wont read against it. Cream, white, red or navy are gonna give you the cleanest contrast. Centre the 6-in run on a hessian table runner and it looks like something from a christmas market stall.

I got a message last november from someone who stitched the smallest version on a gift tag and said it looked like a proper illustration. Send me message if your machine rejects the format and ill sort it same day.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Christmas table runners and placematsStitch the 6-inch build centred on a cream linen table runner for a december dinner table that looks put-together without a lot of effort
  • Holiday cushion covers and pillow panelsWorks on a white or sage cushion cover and the 14-colour ornament palette makes it rich enough to stand alone as the only pattern in the room
  • Linen tea towels and kitchen clothsEmbroider on a natural linen tea towel and the landscape shape sits neatly across the lower third without feeling cramped
  • Gift tags and fabric patchesUse the 3-inch size on a small fabric tag, sew it on a gift parcel and it replaces a printed card with something people actually keep
  • Christmas tote bags and gift bagsCentre on a cream cotton tote for a holiday gift bag that has enough detail to look handmade rather than grabbed off a shelf
  • Festive wall hoops and framed piecesHoop in a 7-inch embroidery hoop on plain linen with raw edges and hang it as a wall piece through the full holiday season
  • December market vendor display itemsMakes a good display piece for christmas market stalls on hessian or burlap panels that frame vendor tables
  • Denim or canvas jacket pocket accentsStitch the small size on a denim jacket breast pocket for a subtle holiday accent that doesnt scream christmas from across the room

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
