Male cardinal, that really specific crimson red, facing left and perched on a pine bough. Sharp crest up, dark mask running from beak to throat, wing feathers in deep red with darker shading on the edges. Below him on the branch sits a cluster of holly leaves, bright red berries, and a single tan pinecone. Its the kind of design that reads like a framed nature print.
Eight colours: crimson body, deep red wing shadows, forest green holly and pine needles, red berries, the dark facial mask and eye, cream belly, tan pinecone, white highlights on the eye. Directional feather stitching runs diagonally on the wing and body to give actual feather texture , these arent flat fills. The pine needles use a fine satin column technique, short strokes fanning out from a central spine. At 47k stitches on the 6.88-inch the machine has real work to do but theres nothing in the file thats difficult to execute if you keep the stabiliser firm.
Birding enthusiasts and wreath makers found this one before christmas market shoppers did. One wreath maker in vermont told me she embroiders this on linen and mounts it center-front on her wreath orders for a premium finish. I get orders from people making memorial gifts aswell , cardinals carry that significance for a lot of families and this version is respectful enough to use that way.
Stitch on cream linen, natural cotton or white twill for the cleanest bird read. Dark fabrics like charcoal or navy work if you want a moody winter look and dont mind the green receding slightly. Use tearaway stabiliser on woven linen and cotton. Cut away stabiliser for any fleece or structured fabric. Slow the machine on the wing feather sections, the directional satin needs time to lay flat cleanly. The small 3.21-inch works on pocket squares and cushion corners. Classic.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
