Four Christmas kittens in a row at 5.50 inches wide, sitting up and looking right at you in cream brushed cotton. Each ones in a different patterned Santa hat, ones got red stars, ones got aqua spots, ones got a tilted star topper, the last ones got a single aqua pompom. Three of em wear red-striped scarves and the second cat from the left wears the aqua-striped one which breaks the colour rhythm a lil bit. The hand-drawn fur patches are sketchy and loose, not solid fills, which gives the whole thing that folk-art holiday-card feel.

Seven colours total, white + grey + khaki + brown + red + aqua + black, with 6 colour changes per run and quite high trim counts (155 on the smallest at 5.50 inches wide, climbing to 186 trims on the 7.50-inch version). The white body fill alone runs 10,391 stitches on the small size and stacks up to 16,696 on the big one. Density sits at 1,175 which is hefty, so youll need a firm stabilising setup or the whole layout will pull. Ive digitised it in my main digitising tool with the white underlay on the bodies dialled in light because the satin scarves sit right on top and overlap.

A customer ordered the 6.5-inch wide one last winter for a knit Christmas stocking front. She used a heavy ivory canvas drill, cut-away stabiliser on both sides because of how dense it is, and 40wt rayon on top for that satin sheen. Sent me a photo and the colour balance on screen matched the stitchout almost exactly.

Stitch the small 5.5-inch on a quilt block centre square in unbleached calico. Pop the 6.5-inch on a kitchen apron bib panel. Pick the 7.5-inch wide for a throw cushion front, thats the size where you really get all four kitten faces reading clearly. Skip stretchy knits, the multi-colour registration goes off when the fabric shifts. Hoop tight with at least 2 layers of medium cut-away behind anything thats got drape.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
