One paw up, one paw planted, body wrapped in a looping strand of christmas lights it clearly got into on its own. The bulbs hang off the cord in little satin ovals, red, green, yellow and orange alternating all the way around. Wide round eyes with a white specular dot in each one. Slight smirk on the face. Its that exact energy every cat owner knows from november onwards when the decorations come out.
Seven colours, 29,866 stitches at the 7.5-inch wide size and down to 11,769 at the 3.5-in micro. The tabby body is warm grey with a deeper stripe pattern worked in directional fill so the fur reads as textured and not just a flat grey block. Each bulb is a small satin column oval with a tiny black cap on top, and those caps are what you have to watch on the small size. Bobbin tension matters for the little caps, too loose and they slide. Digitised in my standard software so the underlay is handled properly under each bulb colour.
Honestly I wasnt expecting this one to go as wide as it did. Text me, I get messages from cat owners every november around the time people start putting up decorations. One customer put it on a whole set of sweatshirts for her family gift-exchange party and apparently everyone fought over who got one. Theyll do that with cat designs, cat people are loyal like that.
Stitch on a white or cream sweatshirt fleece for cleanest colours. Pop it on a red or forest green tee if you want the lights to really pop against a holiday background colour. Apply firm cutaway knits and float the fabric instead of hooping directly if your machine struggles with sweatshirt seams. Skip dark charcoal or black fabrics, the grey tabby body wont separate from the background.
Text me if the file throws an error or the bulb colours look off after stitching and Ill get you sorted.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
