The cat is tangled in the tree, obviously. Its sitting right inside the wreath ring, those wide shocked eyes staring straight out, one paw probably having knocked a bauble loose already. The christmas wreath circles the whole scene in deep teal-green with colored bulbs and ornament balls hanging off it, and Santas jolly face is peeking in from the right edge like hes just noticed the chaos. Twelve colors in total. The teal-green fir, the grey and white cat fur, Santas full face with rosy cheeks and white satin beard, all the individual bulbs in their separate hues. I get messages from people saying they didnt expect to love a design with Santa in it but the cat being the actual subject is what got them. Thats this one.

One of the denser designs in the catalog. 33,190 stitches at the 3.51 inch size up to 69,587 at 7.51 inches, 12 color changes, 123 trims. The trim count is the ornament balls and light bulbs cycling through their own satin colors. Use a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser for this one and lay WSS film over the surface on anything with texture or pile. At 69,000-plus stitches on the large size, stitch at 60-65% speed and let the machine breathe. Digitised in professional digitising software.

Stitch on a mid-weight cotton sweatshirt or a canvas zip pouch for the best result. Hoop the fabric taut so the 12-color sequence lands flat. Cat owners who do christmas are a specific and reliable group, and the humor angle here is what sells it. The Santa peeking from the side means youre getting two characters in one design, and the twelve-color palette on a finished piece looks genuinely involved.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Cat owner Christmas sweatshirts and hoodiesHoop polymesh underneath mid-weight cotton fleece or French terry so the dense 12-color fill sits flat without pulling.
  • Holiday humor gift items for cat loversThis works brilliantly as a wrapped gift for any cat-obsessed friend who appreciates the chaos energy of the design.
  • Framed fabric art and hoop art for home decorStretch and hoop tightly in a wooden embroidery hoop, then mat and frame it as a finished wall piece without cutting.
  • Christmas canvas zip pouches and bagsStitch on the front panel of a 12-inch natural canvas zip pouch using the 7.51-inch size at just under full panel width.
  • Vet clinic and pet boutique seasonal displaysThe Santa peeking angle gives it narrative appeal that holiday display items need to get picked up off a shelf.
  • Custom holiday pillowcases and cushion coversUse the 5.51-inch size centered on a standard pillowcase front panel, avoiding the hemmed edge area.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
