Fat round cat sitting like it owns the place, dressed head to tail in a proper red Santa suit. The coat has white fluffy trim along the hem and cuffs, a dark brown belt pulled tight round its chunky middle, and the little Santa hat sits at an angle like the cat already decided christmas is too much effort. Grey tabby markings peek out round the face where the hood falls back, and theres a flash of dark green scarf or collar tucked under the chin, which ties the whole costume together.

Nine colours in this one and the density sits right at 999 stitches per square inch, so its a properly filled design without going overboard. Black outlines hold the cartoon shapes firm. The white hat trim and coat cuffs are the tricky bits, they need a light topping layer on fleece or the stitches sink. On cotton or felt they land cleanly without any extra fuss.

My sister asked me to make a christmas cat shirt for her daughter last november and this was the result. Kid loves grumpy cats and festive stuff equally, so I went full costume, full colour, lil bit sulky-looking. She wore the shirt every single day of advent, which I suppose is the best review I can give a design. The 5.51-inch version went on a youth medium jersey without a single pucker.

Anchor cutaway stabiliser underneath before hooping jersey or fleece, the satin columns round the hat edge need a stable base or they pull. Stick with red, white, or cream base fabric so the costume reads properly. Skip black or charcoal because the dark coat detail just disappears. Pop the smallest size on a christmas stocking or a kids beanie if ya want something beyond shirts.

All 5 sizes run from 3.51 to 7.51 inches wide and the file set covers every major machine format. Holler if the grey tabby face stitches look off on your first test run and Ill check the thread sequence for ya.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
