These two cats are wrapped up in christmas lights the same way an overenthusiastic family wraps their front porch in December. One cat in grey and white with a red bow, the other with coloured bulbs wound around its body, big round eyes that read happy and a little smug. Seven colours at a density of 1,038, so the fills are solid and plush without being so heavy they stiffen the fabric. Stitch count runs 15,333 at the smallest 2.3 by 3.5 inch size up to 38,293 at the full 4.92 by 7.5 inch version.

The taller proportions mean this one works well on the front of a tote bag or a tea towel where you want vertical presence. Use a firm stabiliser on any stretchy or loosely woven base fabric. Tearaway handles woven cotton and denim fine. Avoid hooping on dark navy or black unless you adjust your top thread palette, the light grey tones wont show. Ive had customers text photos of this stitched on red fleece and it works with the contrast better than you'd expect.

One customer picked this up last christmas specifically because she couldnt find anything that was both a cat design and a christmas design in the same file, and thats exactly the gap this fills. Cat owners who sew tend to order it for themselves and then buy a copy for a friend. Pick the 4.9-inch version for a tote or bag front. Use the smaller 2.3-inch for sock cuffs or a shirt collar tab. Best on white, cream, or light linen so all seven colour stops land clean. Text me if the satin needs adjustment and Ill check the punch.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Holiday tote bags for cat ownersCanvas tote for a cat-owner gift at the tall 4.9-inch size: the vertical proportions fill the bag front in a way that wide designs never quite manage
  • Christmas tea towelsWhite cotton tea towel for a holiday kitchen set at a mid-size, the cheerful pair works as seasonal decor that guests pick up and look at
  • Cat lover gift pouchesFelt christmas stocking at the mid-size with the grey-and-white cats on a natural felt base, the red bows add the only festive colour needed
  • Kids holiday stockingsWhite fleece blanket panel for a seasonal pet-owner gift with a single cat pair centred, the density at 1,038 means the fills look plush on fleece pile
  • Fleece blanket panelsFabric zip pouch at 2.3 inches for a cat lover gift, the design is small but the character pose is clear and the detail doesnt collapse at that width
  • Sweatshirt chest panelsSweatshirt chest panel at the large size for a casual December top, the two cats and coloured lights read as a complete illustration rather than a placement

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
