Pulled this together for a customer who wanted something for her golden retriever rescue's fundraiser tote, dog face, heart outline, tiny Santa hat. The face stitches out in chocolate satin with alot of directional layering so the fur actually reads like fur instead of a flat blob. And the cream satin sits around it as a clean heart-shaped path, no gaps.

Theres a little green satin cap on top with a white bobbin-thread pompom effect at the tip. 3 colours total: chocolate, cream, green. Set up in the software I use. A full cutaway stabiliser base means the density, 845, doesnt drag or pucker even on a stretch canvas. 4 sizes run from 4.01 x 4.51 inches up to 6.67 x 7.51 inches, stitch range 23,805 to 42,327.

Last christmas a customer hooped this on a red canvas tote and said the heart outline popped harder than she expected against the red. One customer grabbed the 6.67-inch hoop for an apron bib and called it boutique quality. I get that a lot with pet designs, people are suprised how professional it reads once its actually stitched out.

Use cutaway stabiliser, not tearaway. Add a second cutaway layer if youre working on stretch fabric. Run topping only on towelling, plain canvas doesnt need it. Stitch this at normal speed, 750 rpm is plenty for the satin density here. Skip iron-on tearaway, it wont hold the underlay properly.

Hit me up if the file gives you any trouble and Ill sort it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Red canvas tote for a dog rescue fundraiserThe cream heart reads cleanly against red canvas and the chocolate fur details stay crisp with cutaway stabiliser underneath.
  • Christmas stocking cuff for a pet ownerStitch the 4.01-inch size on fleece cuff fabric with heavy cutaway, the satin heart frame holds its shape without puckering.
  • Dog-themed gift tag on a wrapped presentRun the smallest hoop on stiff felt, back it with adhesive, and trim close to the heart outline for a clean tag shape.
  • Baby onesie for a first Christmas with the family dogUse the 4.01-inch version on stretchy onesie knit with cutaway stabiliser, the directional fur stitches flatten nicely on jersey.
  • Bandana for a medium or large dogHoop a pre-cut bandana blank with cutaway, run the mid size, and the dog face centres itself perfectly across the fold line.
  • Hoop wall art piece for dog lover kitchenRun the largest size on natural cotton fabric at the 7 in build, no topping needed, then mount in a deep shadow box.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
