Worked up this ghost girl after seeing how popular the spooky-meets-holiday mashup was getting last christmas. She is a kawaii-style white ghost with a pink satin-fill santa hat, big dark eyes with lashes, rosy pink cheeks, and shes wrapped in a strand of green christmas lights that loop around her body. She holds a pink iced drink in one hand and a little pink crossbody bag hangs at her side. Seven colours total, white, pink, grey, green, two custom blended pinks and black, and 6 colour changes across the five sizes.
Stitch counts go from 22,052 at 3.51 inches tall up to 51,756 at the largest 5.57 inch size. That upper range is a real heavy hitter for detail work, the crosshatch fill on the grey ghost body, the satin column strand for the christmas lights, the tiny applique-style details on the bag, it all adds up. Density is 1,237 which means this wants a good stabiliser and a slow machine speed through the denser sections.
I sold this one to a customer in november last year, she ordered it for her daughter who had asked specifically for a ghost christmas tshirt for their family photo shoot. The mum said they couldnt find anything like it in stores so she wanted something custom. It photographed really well against a cream knit background, the pink and green popped perfectly.
Pair light cutaway all fabrics for this one, dont skimp here with 51k stitches at the large end. Hoop on white, cream, or grey cotton jersey or fleece for best contrast. Avoid dark fabrics unless you want to do test stitching first, the white ghost fill needs to fully cover. Pick a 75/11 stretch needle on jersey, keep bobbin tension snug.
