A chubby round gnome in a tall pointy red hat, braided grey beard almost covering his whole body, standing right next to a decorated christmas tree holding a little pile of wrapped gift boxes. The composition is compact and wide, both figures together filling the hoop without crowding. its the kind of design where the brief was simple and the execution is just solid, everything balanced and the colours doing exactly what you want them to do.

Ten colours throughout, firmly complex category. Stitch count goes from 16,821 at the smallest 3.5 x 2.53 inch size up to 43,224 at the full 7.5 x 5.41. Thats a significant needle time at the largest size, so set aside a good run window. Pair with a no-show cutaway stabiliser to support the density and use a tatami fill setting for the tree body to keep the green consistent. The bold outlines around the tree and gift boxes are directional satin that give the whole composition a cartoon sticker look.

I get messages from customer after customer saying the gnomes beard surprises them in thread, it comes out with this dense layered texture that looks almost dimensional. Most buyers are doing christmas sweatshirts or kids pyjama sets and they dont want something generic or overworked. Dont skip the cutaway on the heavy fill areas. Use the 5 or 6 inch size if youve got the hoop for it, detail at smaller sizes is still there but mid to large really shows off what the file can do.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Christmas sweatshirts and pullover hoodiesThe compact wide-format composition works beautifully centred on a sweatshirt chest, bright colours pop on dark fabrics
  • Kids holiday pyjama sets and onesiesPerfect size for kids pyjama fronts or onesie chest panels at the 3.5-in chest, colourful and child-friendly
  • Festive tote bags and reusable shopping bagsStitch onto natural canvas tote at the full 7.5-inch width for a festive christmas market bag
  • Christmas tree skirts and stockingsThe 5-inch size fits most stocking fronts and the gnome reads clearly even in fleece-weight material
  • Holiday cushion covers and throw pillowsWorks on cushion covers especially on red or green cotton, the gold star at the treetop adds richness
  • Teacher appreciation christmas gifts on linenHoop a linen zipper pouch or small card holder as a teacher gift, the design fills a small panel nicely

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
