Heres a heart shape but packed with christmas icons instead of solid fill, the kind of design that reads as a heart from across the room then rewards you with detail when you get up close. Top left has a swirly peppermint candy in a little heart silhouette, top right corner is a steaming coffee mug with three little wisps of steam. Bottom left holds a candy cane curving down, bottom right has a gingerbread man with his arms out, and the dead centre bottom is a big snowflake with smaller snowflakes scattered around. Running horizontal across the middle is a heartbeat pulse line, ties the whole composition together.
Single colour design, 1 thread only, so zero colour changes from start to finish and the machine just runs straight through. Density is low at 464 stitches per square inch cos the icons are spaced out with negative space between them, so it sits flat on lighter fabrics without puckering. Stitch range covers 11,731 at the 3.38-inch smallest version up to 25,189 at the 7.24-inch largest. industry tools is what I built this in, the directional satin sits along the heartbeat line and small fill blocks anchor each icon, the thin black lines connecting the filled shapes give it that proper sketch-collage feel.
Smartest swap is the thread colour, swap the dark green default for red on cream linen, or do white on a forest green sweatshirt and youve got two completely different vibes from the same file. One customer messaged saying she ran the 4.35-in run on a set of 6 cream waffle tea towels in burgundy thread as christmas gifts last year, they took her under 10 minutes each cos of the single colour.
Best on cream linen, oatmeal cotton, sage waffle knit, dusty pink fleece, anywhere the silhouette icons get good contrast. Hoop with light tearaway under wovens, medium cutaway under any knit. Skip dark satin fabrics, the thin pulse stroke and the connecting threads will disappear into the sheen. Pop on a layer of water-soluble topping over textured weaves so the small snowflakes dont sink between the threads. Pair with valentines day or other heart-themed designs to build a collection.
