Sketched out this christmas holly wreath going for a more botanical feel rather than the usual cartoon look. Its an open crescent shape, heavy at the base and trailing up the sides, made of layered holly leaves in multiple shades of dark green and olive, clusters of red berries, white mistletoe sprigs and some dried seed pod shapes mixed in. Theres no bow, no ribbon, just the foliage, which keeps it looking like something from a home interiors catalogue rather than clip art. Nine colours, 8 colour changes, 4 sizes.
Sizes run from 4.29 inches spanning 7.14 inches, stitch count from 22,596 up to 37,678 on the largest. The holly leaves use directional satin fill layered in two tones to give depth, the darker shading on the undersides reads properly even at the 4 inch run. Use cutaway stabiliser on any fabric with stretch, tearaway works fine on woven linen or canvas. Topping on velvet or felt fabrics so the leaf detail doesnt sink, you want that layered shading to show through.
I had a customer ask me last november whether this design could work centred on a table runner, she was planning a christmas dinner table for 12 people, she stitched the largest size and send me the photo and it looked genuinely great. The composition works as a standalone wreath piece you can add text inside or leave empty.
Stitch it centred on a natural linen cushion, or run it on a cotton table runner. Use the medium size on a canvas tote or holiday apron, the wreath shape works on a lot of different items without looking out of place.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
