A decorative bow with christmas lights threaded through it. That sounds simple but the digitising makes it work, the bow is stitched in directional satin columns that follow the ribbon curves so it actually looks like fabric folding over on itself rather than just a flat shape. Five colours total, the ribbon gets two of them for light and shadow areas, the wire takes one, and the bulbs split across the remaining two. Density is 471 density at X spi which is standard for this kind of satin-heavy design.
The size range is all wide-format: smallest is 3.51 by 2.19 inch and largest is 7.51 by 4.69 inch. Its built for placements where you want something that spreads horizontally. Stitch counts run from 8501 to 16579 depending on size, so even the biggest runs in under 25 minutes on most machines. Use knit-friendly cutaway on anything stretchy, medium tearaway on stable wovens. Hooped with the fabric snug and flat, the bow tails and bulb positions should all land where they should.
A customer last holiday season stitched the 7.5-in build for a cream throw pillow cover in red and gold thread. She sent a photo and it looked like something from a shop window, not a home machine. Pick a fabric with a tight weave for the best result on the wide satin areas. Skip lightweight chiffon or thin cotton lawn at the big size, the density will pull it without heavy stabiliser support.
Email me if you download and cant open a specific format or if anything looks off after stitching and Ill look into it right away.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Christmas sweatshirts and jumpers with front bow placementHoliday sweatshirt front chest at 5 inches in red and gold thread, a customer sent a photo of the finished throw pillow version last season and said people stopped to look at it up close.
- Holiday table runners and placemats stitched along the edgeChristmas table runner hemline with a row of the 3 in mini spaced evenly, the horizontal format suits the long edge of a runner naturally.
- Christmas gift bags and fabric gift wrapping pouchesFabric gift pouch with this as the centred motif on the front, the bow functions as a decorative stand-in for a real ribbon.
- Festive throw pillow covers with wide centred placementThrow pillow in cream linen at the 7-inch top1-inch version, wide enough to fill the pillow face without pushing to the edges.
- Christmas tree skirts with repeating bow motif around the edgeVelvet tree skirt hemline with repeating smaller versions spaced at equal intervals, the directional satin on velvet is exceptional with a topping sheet.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
