Its a big solid red heart with a string of christmas fairy lights wrapped all the way around the outside edge. The wire is black and follows the outline closely, and the bulbs stick out at regular intervals in red, yellow and blue. Classic old-school bulb style, round and chunky, not the modern LED teardrop kind. Right in the centre theres a white paw print, the three toe pads and the main pad, done in a clean satin fill that pops against the red. Its a simple concept and it works really well because the paw and the lights both read clearly at different sizes.

6 colours and 5 sizes, largest coming in at 6.24 inches wide and around 25,000 stitches. Run a layer of cutaway stabiliser under anything with stretch like jersey or fleece, it'll stop the outline from warping during the dense satin fill sections. Tearaway is fine for stable cotton or denim. The black wire sections are thin running stitches so the density is low there, but the red fill itself is dense satin so thats where most of the run time goes.

My sister stitched this on a christmas stocking for her dog last year, the 4-in placement on the cuff. She told me the paw print came out realy sharp even on the velvet fabric she chose, which I was suprised by because velvet is tricky with satin fills. Use a water-soluble topping if youre doing velvet or terry cloth, itll keep the needle from dragging the loops into the fill area. Plain white cotton and cream linen are the easiest fabrics, the red really sings on those.

Stitch the chest 3-in on dog bandanas or pet collar accessories. Pop the large 6-in feature on a pet christmas stocking that actually matches the family stockings. Use a 75/11 sharp needle on woven fabrics, switch to a 90/14 stretch needle for jersey pet clothing. Keep the bobbin tension even because the dense red fill can show looping on the back if tensions off.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
