This poinsettia is the full, face-on kind, not a side sketch. Red petals fill most of the hoop with satin-fill and fine veining lines running tip to center, the sort of directional stitching that catches light when the fabric moves. Seven color stops total: two dark greens for the holly leaves and pine sprigs, a soft teal for the feathery branches, a mauve-ish tone for the petal shadows, then red, sand and orange for the center and berries. That orange center knot is tiny but it does a lot of work holding everything together.

The smallest size runs 3.28 by 3.50 inches across the keyring run at just over 20,000 stitches, manageable on a standard 4x4 hoop. The largest goes up to 7.03 x 7.51 inches at nearly 51,000 stitches, which is when youll really see all that detail pop. Ive stitched the big one on a cream linen tea towel and the texture looks almost botanical, like a print but stitched. For anything with density like this, run a no-show cutaway underneath so the base layer doesnt shift mid-run.

My friend ordered one of these last christmas to stitch onto a set of dinner napkins for a holiday table. She did all 8 napkins in the 4-inch size and said it was the compliment magnet of the whole dinner. Its that kind of design, heavy enough to feel formal but still clearly handmade. Stitch onto natural fabrics, white or off-white especially, and the 7-color palette does the rest.

Pop it on fleece and the dense satin fill gets this slightly puffy, raised look that works really well for stockings and small tote bags. Skip dark fabric on this one, the red reads much better on light grounds. Hit me up if you want suggestions on thread brand for that amber knot colour.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Christmas dinner napkins and table linensStitch the 4-inch size onto cotton napkins for a full holiday table set, 8 napkins take about a weekend and the matched set looks really impressive.
  • Holiday throw pillow coversThe large 7-inch size fills a pillow front beautifully on cream or natural linen, the 7-color palette reads like a proper holiday textile print.
  • Festive tote bags and gift bagsIron-on tearaway behind a canvas tote, the bold red and green reads clearly even at a distance and holds up through repeated washing.
  • Christmas stockingsWorks brilliantly on fleece stockings where the dense fill gets slightly raised, use the 5-inch or 6-inch size for good proportion.
  • Seasonal kitchen towels and apronsStitch onto natural linen kitchen towels or a white apron bib, the botanical detail level makes it look almost professional.
  • Holiday sweatshirts and cardigansThe 4-inch size sits perfectly on a sweatshirt chest or cardigan pocket, pairs well with dark green or charcoal base fabrics.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
