I sold a bunch of these every december and its easy to see why. The design is a pair of wide reindeer antlers spread out sideways, each one strung with those old-school bulb lights in red, blue, yellow and teal. And right in the middle where the antlers meet, theres a red santa hat flopped to one side with the white fluffy trim and pom-pom hanging down. No face, no body, just the hat and the antlers. Its kind of a silly combination but it works really well on fabric.

7 colours total, 6 colour changes, so its not a fast stitch but its not complicated either. Smallest size runs about 8,787 stitches at 3.5 inches wide, the largest hits 19,113 stitches at 7.5 inches. The antlers are done in brown satin fill with directional stitching so the texture reads as actual wood grain, and the bulbs are small but clean little satin shapes. Hoop with a cutaway stabiliser on this one, the antler sections pull a bit if you use tearaway.

Best results on light fabrics, white or cream cotton is where this really pops. I put the 5.mid 5-in build on navy tea towel for a boxing day gift last year and it looked sharp. Skip anything too dark and busy because those coloured bulbs need a clean background to read properly. Run a layer of topping on fleece or terry if you go that route.

And honestly the hat being slightly off-centre gives the whole thing character, it doesnt look like a clip art print. Stitch it on a cushion cover, an apron, a holiday tote, kids pyjama tops, whatever youre making for the season.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Holiday tea towels and kitchen linensStitch at 4.5 inches on cream linen tea towels, the bulb colours stand out beautifully on light fabric.
  • Christmas cushion covers and pillow casesPop a 5.5 inch placement on a white cotton cushion cover for a fun festive living room accent.
  • Festive tote bags and gift bagsUse the 3.5.5 in run on structured canvas bag bag, great for christmas shopping trips.
  • Kids christmas pyjama topsPut the smaller 3.5 inch size on childrens cotton pyjama tops, works well on the chest pocket area.
  • Adults holiday sweatshirts and hoodiesStitch the 7-in cap across the back of a navy fleece hoodie with cutaway stabiliser underneath.
  • Gift wrapping apronsPlace the 5 inch design on a canvas apron front, perfect for christmas baking sessions.
  • Seasonal table runnersRun a 4.5 in build along a cream cotton table runner to line the holiday dinner table.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
