Ping any dinosaur kid you know and show them this. Big grinning T-Rex, proper chubby cartoon style, wearing a red santa hat a size too big so it flops a bit to one side. The whole body is tangled up in christmas lights, the cord wrapping round the neck and belly and tail. At the very end of the tail theres a yellow star, like hes become the tree himself.
Eight colours in this one. Dark green fills the body, red and white on the hat, then the light bulbs come in red, yellow, teal, purple and bright green with a separate bright green cord thread. the digitising software laid each bulb with a satin oval and a tight outline so theyre crisp and round even on the smaller sizes. The black outline around the whole dino is chunky which is what keeps it reading as cartoon rather than realistic.
Stockings, kids christmas jumpers, class party bags, thats the usual territory. But last christmas I had a customer who ran the 7-inch hoop on a black sweatshirt for their college dino-club ugly sweater contest and they won, which honestly is not suprising. The multicolour pops harder on dark fabric than it does on white so keep that in mind when you pick your base.
Add a medium cutaway stabiliser under anything stretchy. Cotton jersey needs it. Stitch order goes green body first, then hat, then each bulb colour separately, then finish with that thick black outline pass. Use a topping on fluffy fleece or sherpa to stop the stitches sinking. The density on the full 7-inch size is up around 44k stitches so slow your machine down a touch and check your bobbin before you start.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
