This one came together last winter when I was looking for something simpler than the usual multicolour holiday unicorn faces. Theres no string of lights here, no stars, none of that, just a unicorn face where the horn has been swapped out for a lil bunch of christmas pine trees growing straight up between the ears. Three trees, tall centre one flanked by two shorter ones, all in dark green directional fill. Its a two colour job: black for the face outline, curled lashes, and ear shapes, dark green for everything tree-related. Stark and graphic, reads from a distance on a dark hoodie just as clearly as it does up close.
embroidery software did the satin run at a density of 569, which is on the denser side for the fill sections, and those tree masses need it because theyre packing alot of directional stitching into a compact area. Pair medium cutaway under underneath, the satin outline sections really rely on a stable base. Sizes run from 1.67 inches wide at the smallest all the way to 3.67 inches, 4 sizes total, and stitches land between 5,092 and eleven thousand five hundred and nine. Skip a topping on smooth fabric but if youre hooping a fleece or terry surface add one or the tree fill gets buried.
And because its only 2 colours, its a design that actually works on dark backgrounds, navy, forest green, charcoal, wherever you want that bold black-and-green contrast. One customer this christmas season ordered it for a bunch of matching family hoodies because theyd been struggling to find a simple enough holiday design that wasnt overloaded with colour changes. Stitch it on a tote, cap front, or childs jacket patch.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Dark-coloured adult holiday hoodie chestThe 2-colour design works beautifully on navy or charcoal hoodies, no light fabric required, great for adult chest placement.
- Kids jacket back patch for christmasSmall 1.67-inch version fits a kids jacket sleeve or back collar area without overwhelming the garment.
- Matching family holiday tee setEasy to run a batch of these for family sets since theres only 1 colour change stopping the machine once.
- Canvas tote bag for christmas shoppingNatural canvas tote takes the dark green and black cleanly, pairs well with a kraft paper gift tag.
- Christmas cap front panel embroideryThe 3.67-inch version fits most structured cap fronts, use medium-weight cutaway and a topping for the fill sections.
- Ornament or gift tag fabric panelStitch on a small fabric square to use as a gift tag insert or ornament front panel this holiday season.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
