Built this one around the idea of maximum roundness, the dolphin is almost a circle with fins. Thats the whole appeal. Sky blue body, a grey patch on the belly, a white highlight spot, bold black outline. No ball, no text, no extras. Just a chubby little dolphin sitting there looking sideways like its very pleased with itself. Four colours, 4 colour changes, simple enough to run on any machine without drama.

I get the most reorders on simple kawaii-style animal designs and the chubby dolphin is a steady favourite. A friend who runs a kids market stall told me last summer that round cartoon animals outsell realistic animals three to one for anything targeted at under-5s. I believe her. The 2 inch version at around 4,656 stitches is a very fast run, good if youre making a batch of matching onesies or bibs. At 6 inches the stitch count goes up to 22,753 which is more substantial, but the design holds up well at every size because the shapes are big and clean with no tiny detail to lose.

Use tearaway stabilizer on cotton and light knits. Try the 3 inch or 4 inch size on white or pale yellow fabric, the sky blue and grey combination looks great against both. Stitch a test piece before cutting your good fabric, thats always worth it. Download zip comes through the moment payment goes through, PDF inside with the full size and colour chart.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
