Its a laurel wreath in the straightforward classical style, two arching botanical branches of paired oval leaves crossing at the bottom and curving up to an open centre. No extras, just the clean leaf pairs. The leaves are satin-filled and smooth, which gives a clean raised look on fabric rather than the sketchy feel you get with run-stitch outlines. Dark green thread, one colour, no stops or colour changes to manage mid-hoop.

Use a medium-weight tearaway on quilting cotton or woven linen, the low density of 189 per inch makes this one of the easier designs to hoop and sew. Place it at the 3.51 or the 4.51 inch run hooped on and theres a decent open centre gap, plenty for a single initial or short name in a standard garden or script font. I've had people ask about that every few weeks, it fits nicely and doesnt need any repositioning if you centre the design mark to the fabric mark. The 44 trims run across all 6 sizes but each is short and the machine handles them automatically.

Sizes go from 1.95 x 2.51 inches at the smallest right up to 5.85 x 7.51. Pop it on a shirt collar at the small end or frame the largest on a cushion front or wall hoop. Stitch range of 2,994 to 8,305 means quick sew times even on bigger sizes, one customer stitched out all six sizes last month as a test run and said the 4.51-inch on natural linen was the cleanest result. Ping me through the shop when you want advice on a particular size.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Embroidered around a monogram initial on a cotton shirt collar or cuffThe 1.95-inch size fits a shirt collar neatly with a small tearaway and 70/10 needle.
  • Stitched on a linen table napkin as a classic formal table setting accentLinen napkins at the 2.51-inch size look crisp with a water-soluble topping to stop the weave catching the needle.
  • Used as a frame for a name or short text on a graduation gift pieceThe 3.51-inch open centre is about 1.5 inches wide, enough for a single initial without crowding the leaves.
  • Placed on a canvas tote bag as a simple clean motif for everyday useCanvas tote bags take any size from 2.51 upward with a cutaway backing, no topping needed.
  • Sewn on a white cotton pillowcase for a classic bedroom accentWhite cotton pillowcases pair well with dark green, and the low density means little distortion after washing.
  • Added to a child's cotton dress sash or Peter Pan collarA child's collar takes the 1.95 or 2.51-inch size with a lightweight tearaway and 70/10 needle.
  • Used on a wall art hoop with a name embroidered inside the open centreWall art hoops in 4x4 or 5x7 inch sizes work well with the mid-range sizes centred on natural cotton twill or linen.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
