Put together this coffee and heart design after getting a bunch of requests for something that worked for coffee lovers who also want a valentines feel. The cup is drawn at an angle with this dramatic curling steam, very stylised not realistic, and a big red heart sits right next to it like its the most natural combination in the world. Which honestly it kinda is.

Four colour stops: dark red first for some of the steam detail, then red for the heart, bronze for the two round beans and the warm cup interior, and black for the main linework. The bronze thread is a Madeira Classic 40 which gives the beans that proper warm golden brown tone. Stitch count 6,907 at the smallest to 18,247 at 7.51 inches wide.

5 sizes from 3.25 inches up to 6.94 inches wide. Density is 350 which is fairly light so it comes out clean on cotton, canvas, and linen without puckering. Use tearaway stabiliser on woven fabrics and cutaway behind terry cloth or stretch material. Watch bobbin tension on the satin column steam areas, they can look uneven if the bobbin is loose.

This design earns its place year round, not just valentines. I sell it consistently through to mothers day, a customer last month put the medium version onto a natural cotton apron as a birthday gift for their mum and it came out realy nice. Stitch it onto tea towels, thick cotton coasters, barista aprons. Pick the 5 inch version for a centred apron chest panel, its the size that works best there without feeling too small or too large.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Coffee lover apronsThe medium size on a natural cotton apron chest panel makes a popular coffee lover gift that gets actual daily use.
  • Kitchen cotton tea towelsStitched onto a white cotton tea towel the 4-colour design makes a kitchen gift that looks like something you paid more for.
  • Valentines day gifts for coffee drinkersA canvas pouch with this design and some good coffee sachets inside makes a complete valentines gift set.
  • Barista staff uniform patchesThe smaller 3.25 inch version works on barista apron chest pockets without overwhelming the garment.
  • Coffee shop merchandise bagsStitched onto kraft paper gift bags or cotton tote bags for a coffee shop it creates branded merchandise that sells.
  • Mothers day kitchen giftsFor mothers day a set of kitchen towels with this design is a practical gift that most mums actually want.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
