Wings spread wide. Left side goes deep purple at the centre feathers, bleeds into dark navy as the shafts fan outward, with sky blue lower feathers curling down below the body. The right wing mirrors it but in burnt orange fading into crimson, same sky blue at the base. Every individual feather is a directional satin column with a black spine running through the middle and a white highlight edge, which is what gives the whole thing that layered depth when its stitched out.

This one is genuinely dense. The smallest size at 3.5 inches wide already carries 35,257 stitches, and the top 7-in version hits 96,020. Thats not a design you rush through on a home machine. industry-grade software used high-density fills at 1,718 across the feather sections, with directional underlay that mimics actual feather structure. It needs a heavy cutaway stabiliser and a slow pass on the first colour, because the navy and purple sections come in early and set up the base for everything else.

Ive had alot of messages on this one since last summer. One customer texted me a photo of the 5-in centre on a black twill jacket back, the contrast between the purple-navy wing and the dark fabric was genuinely suprising. She said she hadnt expected the white highlights to show up that well. They do, because my usual software specifically programmes those edge satin lines to sit above the base fill at a slightly different angle.

Best on black, charcoal, or very dark navy fabric. The white highlight stitching is what makes this pop, and it disappears on light backgrounds. Use heavy cutaway, hoop tight, and drop the machine speed for the 96k stitch version. Avoid jersey completely at the large sizes, that density will pucker stretch fabric badly.

Text me if you hit any issues and Ill troubleshoot the same day.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • jacket back panel statement pieceStitch the 7-inch version on a black twill jacket back and the purple-to-navy gradient is the kind of thing people stop you to ask about
  • fantasy or cosplay costume shirtEmbroider the 5-in size for a dark grey costume shirt for a fantasy or cosplay event where ya want something sewn not printed
  • gothic or alternative fashion teeRun the mid-size on a black cotton tee for gothic or alternative fashion, the white feather highlights read brilliantly against dark fabric
  • oversized hoodie back panelPop the 6-inch version across the back of an oversized charcoal hoodie and leave the front plain so the wings do all the talking
  • memorial or tribute design on pillowUse the medium size on a dark velvet cushion as a memorial or tribute piece, the depth of the feather fills suits that kind of weight
  • music festival or band merch shirtHoop a 5-in centre on a navy cotton tee for music festival merch that looks hand-made expensive rather than screen-printed cheap
  • canvas tote or denim backpackAdd the small 3.5-inch version to a black denim backpack front pocket for a subtle gothic detail that doesnt overdo it
  • framed hoop wall art in dark fabricPick the 4-inch size for a framed hoop on black linen or twill, the white edge stitching and colour gradient make it gallery-worthy

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
