This bird design has a real folk-art quality to it. The body is elongated and stylised rather than naturalistic, with decorative feather patterns that feel like they were hand-painted onto a ceramic plate or carved into a woodblock. The tail feathers have detailed ornamental marking and the wing sections use layered colour fills to build up the jewel tone palette. Its not a cartoon and its not a realistic bird illustration either, it sits somewhere in between which is kinda the whole point.
5 sizes, 3.51 inches to 7.51 inches wide, stitch count from 12,048 to 31,971. 14 colours but the density is 569 which is actually on the lighter side for this colour count. So it stitches up a bit faster than you'd think and doesnt feel stiff or heavy on the fabric. The digitising handles the fine ornamental feather details with satin columns, actually holding the decorative lines clean.
A customer wrote me last year saying she customised a linen pillow with this for her mum and said it looked like something from a boutique home decor shop. I keep that message because it was genuinely nice to hear.
Stitch on cotton, linen or canvas for best results. Linen especially suits the folk-art mood of this design. Pop light tearaway wovens at the smaller sizes, cutaway for the bigger versions. Try cream, oatmeal or sage backgrounds to lean into the ceramic/folk-art aesthetic rather than fighting it.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
