Im genuinely proud of how much is going on in this one without it feeling cluttered. Theres a big circular wood-branch frame, kinda like a dream-catcher ring but made of thick gnarled brown wood. Inside that frame, a parrot is just sitting there on a branch being absolutely ridiculous with colour. Outside the frame on the left, a tall cactus with yellow daisy flowers growing off it. Red star-shaped blooms scattered around the right side grasses. Its a whole scene.

The bird is the reason this design works. Multi-coloured like a Gouldian finch crossed with a macaw. Red head, cobalt blue wings, orange-yellow belly, dark magenta stripe across the chest, grey feet gripping the branch. 3 colours, nine sizes the bird is NOT nine sizes, its actually four sizes at 4.5 inches topping out at 7.5 inches, and the 15 thread colours get loaded in sequence so the parrot builds up section by section before the cactus greens come in.

Density is high at 69k stitches on the biggest 7.5-inch and 40k on the smallest. Medium-to-heavy cutaway stabiliser underneath, hooped on woven fabric like cotton canvas or twill. Topping film over the green fill sections if youre running this on a towel or textured fabric, the satin rows in the cactus body need a clean surface to lie flat. Underlay matters here because youve got directional fills running at different angles on the bird vs the plant sections. my workhorse software handles that sequencing really well in the file.

Stitch on white, cream, natural linen, or pale sage. A customer dropped the 7-inch onto a cream canvas tote last spring and the colours looked like a painting from a botanic art shop. Skip dark backgrounds because the lime green cactus and pale pink blooms disappear into anything darker than mid-grey. Run a test on your stabiliser combo before the full piece, the 196-plus trim count means a lot of thread changes and you want the bobbin dialed in right.

Add it to cushion covers, tote bags, wall art hoops, or childrens room decor and it looks at home in any of those. its one of the builds where people ask what is that and then immediately want one.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Tropical themed home cushion coversStitch on a beige pillow cover and the 15-colour palette turns it into the kind of piece people think came from a boutique home store
  • Natural canvas tote bags for garden loversWorks beautifully on a vendor tote and gives a plain grocery bag that rich illustrated-garden look that actually gets compliments
  • Childrens room wall hoop artFrame in a 9-inch hoop with white cotton for childrens room wall art, the parrot and cactus colours work perfectly for a tropical or jungle nursery theme
  • Botanical and nature journal coversEmbroider on the front cover of a fabric-bound journal or sketchbook for a botanical art feel that plant and bird lovers absolutely go for
  • Bird watching club or garden society teesA customer wanted the 5.5-inch run on a polo shirt for a small garden society group and it looked like a proper embroidered club badge at that size
  • Gift bags and pouches for plant enthusiastsStitch on a small zipper pouch or drawstring bag for a plant gift set, the wreath composition frames itself nicely on a flat fabric panel
  • Summer festival fashion tops and dressesPop on a linen shirt or light canvas dress for summer and the colours read like vintage botanical illustration on light fabric

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
