The butterfly in this one sits right in the middle of a cluster of floral blooms, wings spread out wide so you get the full wing shape and all the detail in the veining. Its not a cartoon butterfly, more like a botanical illustration style where someone actually studied the wing structure before drawing it. The petals around it are layered, some open fully and some still in bud, which gives it that natural garden feel.
5 colours total in this design, lavender and soft pink on the wings, sage leaves, blush petals. And theres 5 sizes from 3.5 inches 7.5 ceiling, stitch count going from 25,201 to around 60,000 stitches at the largest. Thats alot of coverage for a floral design but the digitising keeps the satin sections smooth and the fill areas have good density without pulling.
A customer sent me a photo last spring of this stitched on a linen tote she made for her mum's birthday and it looked genuinely gorgeous. The lavender butterfly against natural linen was exactly the kind of colour palette that works without trying too hard.
Stitch on cotton, linen, or a stable canvas for best results. Place cutaway under the bigger sizes, especially if youre doing the 7-in top on something like a denim jacket where you want everything to stay flat and crisp. Skip loose weave fabrics, the fine details in the wing veins need a smooth surface to read properly.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
