Alright, so this one is not a natural-looking cat design at all, and thats entirely the point. Fourteen colours, nine sizes from 3.5 7 in jumbo wide, and stitches ranging from 1,061 at the small piece reaching 36,260 at the top 7.5. The density is 100, which is deliberately on the lighter side because the whole effect depends on the colours feeling like watercolour washes rather than heavy satin blocks. If the density were higher, youd lose that light, airy colour feel entirely.
I built this last march after a customer asked for a cat design that didnt look like every other cat design, something a bit bold, a bit different. I digitised it in embroidery software with each colour zone using a shallow directional angle so the satin fills blend at the edges without actually mixing threads. Use a 70/10 needle if you have one, or at minimum a 75/11, to keep those fine whisker satin lines from looking chunky. Bobbin tension matters here too, too tight and the whiskers will pull and pucker. Stitch it on white or cream base fabric only, because pale base is non-negotiable with this colour palette.
I get a lot of messages from cat people about this design, cat lover gifts are recieved really well, especially when the item is something unexpected like a canvas tote or a cushion rather than a standard print. The 5-6 inch range is where this one shines, because you get all fourteen colours reading clearly without the individual sections becoming too small to register. Skip dark fabric completely, the whole rainbow palette depends on a light base. Pop it on a white tote or a cream cushion cover and the colours look almost tie-dye inspired when its stitched out.
Use a white or very light grey base on everything you put this on and youll be happy with how it looks every single time.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
