Square frame of fat C9 christmas bulbs strung along a wavy black cord, with red, lime, kelly green, orange, yellow, magenta and aqua bulbs poking out around all four sides. The centre is blank on purpose. Drop a monogram, a name, a year, or a tiny photo right in the middle and youve got a custom holiday piece. Aalot of folks dont realise these frame designs leave the centre open for layering, but thats the whole point.

Seven colour stops, which means seven thread changes if you run it straight through. So plan your bobbin and your thread cones before you hoop. Six sizes from a small 2.51 inch up to 7.51 inch, stitch counts running 4,431 at the bottom and topping out around 18,066 on the largest. Density is light to medium at 353, so it sits flat on quilters cotton and canvas without a stiff plaque feel. I digitised the cord with a directional satin column so the wire reads like a real twisted strand, and the bulb fills use proper underlay to stop them puckering on softer fabrics.

One customer told me she stitched the 5-inch frame on the front of a red canvas christmas pillow last december and used a chain-stitch font to add her family surname in the middle. She said the pillow ended up on the porch swing and got more photos taken of it than the tree did.

Best fabrics are quilters cotton, kona solid, canvas and linen-cotton blends in cream, red, dark green or charcoal so the bulbs pop. Use medium cutaway behind the design and a layer of water-soluble topping on anything with texture. Skip fleece or sherpa, the satin colour fills will sink into the pile and youll lose the bulb shape. Pair with a script or block monogram font sized to about 60 percent of the open centre for balance. Hit me up if you want the blank middle pre-measured for your monogram software, Ill send specs.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
