The compass centre is tight and precise, a sharp 8-point star in dark fill with the cardinal letters N W E S in solid black, each one clean and readable. But then the colour just kind of explodes outward from behind the ring, orange-gold north, pink-red east, green south, purple-blue west, done in loose open fill that bleeds past the outer edge like a watercolour splash. The contrast is honestly what makes it interesting, structured in the middle, loose and colourful outside.

Ten thread colours, 9 sizes. Smallest is 3.48" wide at 7,077 stitches, largest is 7.49" wide at 18,270 stitches, heights running 3.49" to 7.50". Its essentially square proportioned across all sizes, so placement is straightforward and you can centre it on most items without worrying about orientation. professional digitising tools digitised with a lower density on the outer colour fills, which keeps it looking light and airy rather than stiff. Hoop your canvas firm and keep the tension consistent, the outer fill genuinely needs that support to sit open the way its meant to look. Stitch it, trim the backing, and youve got a wall piece thats ready to frame same day. Press the seams flat before you position it on a jacket back and start hooping.

I also see it a lot on dorm room pillows and journal covers. I get messages with photos sometimes and some of the placements are genuinely creative, last march a customer stitched three of these onto a hiking backpack and it looked great. Message me if you want help picking the right size, ill actually get back to you same day.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Canvas tote bag front panelSailing instructors end-of-season gift orders used the medium build on canvas with cardinal-letter monograms underneath. Cutaway is non-negotiable for the 10 colour passes.
  • Sailing club polo chest designPolo chest placements at 3.5 inches need soluble overlay across the pique, otherwise the degree markers vanish into the texture.
  • Cotton duffel bag side panelDuffel side panels go for the bigger 7 inch run, with two cutaway layers and the speed slowed for the colour change sequence.
  • Nautical pillow cover front featurePillow cover fronts on linen hold the centre hub clean if you stick with directional underlay and an embroidery 75/11 sharp.
  • Wall hoop art display pieceQuilting cotton on a 9 inch wooden hoop gives this design room to breathe. Tearaway behind, rayon for the catch-light effect.
  • Boat cushion front centre designBoat owner orders for marine canvas cushions need polyester thread for UV plus two cutaway layers under salt-spray fabric.
  • Beach blanket corner feature accentBeach blanket corners pair the smaller 5.5 inch with no-show mesh for cotton, soft topping for terry blends.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
