12 colours on a dragonfly, and they actually look like dragonfly wing colours rather than just picked at random. Each of the four wings has its own layered fill, teal into turquoise into cobalt, with lighter vein lines cutting through as channels that give the wings that translucent quality you see on real insects. The body runs violet and teal segmented top to bottom, narrow and long.

Nine sizes, spans 3.51 to 7.50 inches across nine sizes with widths from 2.54 to 5.45 inches. 9,177 stitches on the smallest, 26,134 on the largest. With 12 colours youre looking at 11 thread changes per run but the sequence is clear in the file, industry-grade software digitised the underlay properly so the colour transitions land without muddle at the wing joints.

I drew this one earlier this year because I kept getting requests for nature designs that werent florals. Earlier this spring one customer ordered the 4-inch size for a childs linen sun hat brim and texted me that the turquoise thread on cream linen was exactly the summer vibe she was looking for. Said the wing detail held up even on the curved surface, which I was glad to hear because hooping a hat brim is always a bit of a gamble.

Best on champagne piqué, putty muslin or pale lavender cotton where the jewel tones pop cleanly. Avoid dark fabrics here, the teal and violet blend into navy or charcoal and ya lose the colour contrast entirely. Density is 639 so its manageable on most wovens. Cutaway stabiliser underneath, topping on any textured cotton or linen to keep the vein channel lines sharp. Skip jersey on the big sizes.

Text me on chat if the file glitches and ill rework it same day.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
